Line Hjort PhD, Assistant Professor at The Centre for Translational Medicine and Parasitology in the deparment of Immunology and Microbiology, University of Copenhagen, will share her research in child and pregnancy studies in Tanzania.
Line's research focuses on determinants of cardiometabolic disease to improve prevention and treatment, and she especially focuses on vulnerable and understudied populations, where research is lacking. Mayor Andreas Keil, whose Copenhagen portfolio is Employment, Integration and Business and chairperson of the Employment, Integration and Business Committee will join us for a presentation. Mayor Keil is responsible for the municipality's tasks that relate to employment efforts, welfare benefits, integration and contributions to business growth. The Employment, Integration and Business Administration helps Copenhageners get a job or an education and provides a basis for support for those outside the labor market. In addition, it has the task of strengthening cohesion in Copenhagen by receiving refugees and supporting immigrants in finding their place in the community. In addition, there is a focus on improving the framework for Copenhagen businesses, for example by matching unemployed people with relevant jobs and by guiding businesses to obtain the necessary permits from the municipality and other authorities.
